What if learning French felt less like a class… and more like going out with friends?

French, Wine & Conversation is a relaxed, social French experience for adults who want to learn French, build confidence, discover local Calgary spots, and actually have fun while doing it.

We meet once a week in small groups of just 3–4 participants, at a different restaurant, pub, or local establishment each week.

There’s French conversation, games, guided activities, a little wine, lots of laughs, and plenty of opportunities to practice what you’re learning.

No pressure. No judgment. No need to be perfect.

Just come ready to speak a little French and have a good time.

Our first cohort is designed specifically for beginner French learners.

You don’t need previous French experience. We’ll build your confidence from the ground up through practical vocabulary, simple conversations, games, and real-life situations.

And you won’t stay a beginner forever.

Each new cohort will move to the next level, allowing returning participants to continue learning and progressing with the same community.

How It Works

Tuesday Nights — South Calgary

Thursday Nights — North Calgary

7:00 PM – 8:15 PM

Each week, we meet at a different local establishment, moving through Calgary from east to west.

The location is announced 7 days ahead of time, so every week brings a new place to discover.

Groups are intentionally kept very small:

Only 3–4 participants per evening.

That means everyone gets plenty of opportunities to speak, participate, ask questions, and receive personalized guidance.

Every week features a new French activity, including conversation games, vocabulary challenges, everyday scenarios, guided discussions, pronunciation practice, and fun challenges designed to get everyone talking.

Beginner French

South Calgary — Tuesdays
September 29 – December 1, 2026

North Calgary — Thursdays
October 1 – December 3, 2026

10 sessions

Cohort 2 — Winter 2027

Next-Level French

After a short holiday break:

South Calgary — Tuesdays
January 26 – March 30, 2027

North Calgary — Thursdays
January 28 – April 1, 2027

Continuing French

A shorter spring session before summer:

South Calgary — Tuesdays
May 4 – June 22, 2027

North Calgary — Thursdays
May 6 – June 24, 2027

Your 10-Session Experience

Cohort 1 Introductory Price

$400 for 10 sessions

That’s just $40 per session for our first cohort.

Your registration covers the complete 10-session experience.

After Cohort 1

The regular price for new participants will be:

$500 for 10 sessions

But we want to reward people who stick with their French.

Complete 10 sessions. Unlock the $400 rate.

If you complete all 10 sessions of your cohort, you earn our returning participant rate of $400 for your next 10-session cohort.

New participant → $500 / 10 sessions
Complete your 10 sessions → $400 / next 10 sessions
Keep completing your sessions → Keep your $400 loyalty rate

10 weekly French sessions
1,25 hours of instruction and conversation per session

Access to the monthly French Conversation Brunch

Monthly French Conversation Brunch

Once a month, the North and South groups come together for a special French Conversation Brunch.

Saturday or Sunday — 10:00 AM

These relaxed brunches give everyone the opportunity to meet participants from the other group and practice French through longer, more natural conversations.

The guided French conversation is included in your session fee.

Participants simply pay for their own food and drinks, with a minimum purchase of $15 per person at the featured establishment.

The first brunch takes place after Week 3, followed by approximately one brunch per month.

Life Happens. We Get It.

Registered for South Calgary, but one week the North location works much better for your schedule?

No problem.

You can swap between the North and South session within the same week, as long as there is space in the other group.

Simply let us know at least one hour before the session, and you can join the other location that week.

Your registration is tied to your cohort — not to one specific side of Calgary every single week.

Because learning French should fit into your life, not make your calendar cry.

Small Groups Mean Limited Spots

We intentionally keep our groups to 3–4 participants.

That’s what makes the experience personal, relaxed, and conversation-focused.

But it also means there aren’t many spots available.

Registration closes 2 weeks before the start of each new 10-session cohort.

The earlier you reserve your spot, the better your chances of getting the day and location you want.

Three or four spots per evening go quickly!

And Then… What If We Took This Show on the Road?

We’re thinking beyond the classroom.

If our 2026–2027 French journey goes as planned, why not end the year with something a little crazy?

A Group Trip!

Imagine spending a few days somewhere French-speaking, putting everything you’ve learned into practice, exploring, eating, laughing, and — hopefully — ordering something in French without immediately switching back to English. 😉

Destination: TBD.

Participation: completely optional.

Nothing is booked, and there’s absolutely no obligation to come.

For now, it’s just an idea we’re dreaming about…
