About JeBadkid

Meet Geneviève

Founder • Bilingual Event Planner • French Experience Curator

Hi, I’m Geneviève — the person behind JeBadkid and the creator of French, Wine & Conversation.

I’m a bilingual French-Canadian, event planner, creative, and French Experience Curator who believes that learning a language should feel less like homework and more like something you actually want to show up for.

My background brings together three things I love:

People. Experiences. French.

I’ve spent years creating connections, organizing experiences, supporting others, and helping people feel comfortable enough to try something new.

That’s exactly what I wanted to bring to French learning for adults.

Why an Experience Curator?

Because I’m not just putting together a French lesson.

I’m creating the whole experience.

I choose the places we visit, create the activities, organize the groups, guide the conversations, build the schedule, and make sure the evening feels welcoming, fun, and worth showing up for.

My event-planning background is a big part of that.

I love the details — the right venue, the right activity, the right atmosphere, and those little touches that turn an ordinary evening into something people remember.

And then there’s French.

French Has Always Been Part of My Life

I grew up speaking French and made Alberta my home in 2013. I was born in Quebec city.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to teach and support children and young adults with disabilities, including in a French minority-language environment.

I’ve also raised three children in that environment and spent years as a foster parent, where I continued to support the children in my care while introducing them to French.

These experiences taught me that there is no single way to learn.

People have different strengths, different personalities, different comfort levels — and sometimes they simply need the right environment to feel confident enough to try.

That belief is at the heart of what I’m creating.

And I’m Still Learning Too

I’m currently preparing to complete training in adult education, because I believe that creating great learning experiences also means continuing to learn how to better support the people participating in them.

I’m not interested in standing at the front of a room and talking at people.

I want to create an environment where people talk with each other.

Where mistakes are normal.

Where questions are welcome.

Where learning happens naturally through conversation, games, experiences, and repetition.

The JeBadkid Philosophy

JeBadkid is my name, translated into something a little more playful.

It’s my creative signature — and it represents the way I like to do things:

Creative. Personal. A little unexpected. Never boring.

French, Wine & Conversation is the first experience bringing all of those pieces together.

And hopefully, it won’t be the last.
